Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4392 Registered: Jun-04 | well for me for a sound quality car 115 db would be fine and that is enough to loose hearing |

Silver Member Username: Mike_anthesCanton, SD USA Post Number: 324 Registered: Aug-04 | 115db isn't that loud... |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4403 Registered: Jun-04 | from a ground stomping point of view no it isnt loud but for the average joe who just wants to hear the bass he's missing with authority from a "only I want to hear it in my car point of view" its more than fine |

Subs at 115 isn't that much, but a 115 db front stage is pretty loud when you take midrange into consideration. It's due to the fact that our ears aren't linear, we are most sensitive in midrange and upper midrange. |
Anonymous | well its a home theatre system thats rated at a maximum SPL of 115db,so i was wondering if thats loud |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1248 Registered: Aug-05 | I'd have to say no. My Cerwin Vega V-12F's (home speakers) reach 115dB with 60W RMS with ease. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4404 Registered: Jun-04 | well i didnt look at it from the term "Loud" I was looking at it as a is it enough point of view and id say yes from an soundquality point of view it is enough not loud in the way the rest of you are looking at it |
Silver Member Username: LexuscoopPost Number: 637 Registered: Dec-05 | no for home theater thats crap, to be honest. home theaters should be gettin around 140, becuase you have such a big area and you can hook more up. the home theaters i have in my house both get up to around 135-140 and it starts shakin the other side of the house (my house is about the size of a football field) and the best one is up stairs, and sometimes when my dad watches LOTR it knocks some of my cologne bottles down LOL |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4405 Registered: Jun-04 | 115 db for me in bass is enough i meant for sound quality if its an average output across the frequencies |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4406 Registered: Jun-04 | in a car im speaking |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4425 Registered: Jun-04 | bump |
Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 5538 Registered: May-04 | 120db is considered where discomfort occurs. 115db is about 5db louder than a Skil Saw is, to put things in perspective. It's pretty loud, loud enough to cause hearing damage after a period of time. OSHA Daily Permissible Noise Level Exposure is 15 minutes at 115db. |

Silver Member Username: Young_jamesCanada Post Number: 734 Registered: Sep-05 | I have the z-2300 which is a 200wrms THX certified 2.1 system, and it says mine is 100db. I haven't had mine pass 1/2 way yet. I just get's way too loud for what I want it for. I can only imagine what that 505wrms will sound like!! |
