I have an Audiobann 6004T on my mid/highs. The darn thing goes into thermal after 10 songs of metal but It'll push hiphop all friggin day. Is this a failing common to the model or what?

Its hooked up right. 4ch's @ 2ohms, 8 2-way 4 ohm drivers.

Bass: JL 500/1 pushing two 10's that are fairly wooped.

Sugjestions for replacements...

I'd like to run @ 4ohms to use the 500's damping factor. I realy dont want to build a new box so tuning is probobly out. The box was tuned to 39hz.

Thanks

B-)

usually theres more bass in hip hop music vs more mid/highs in metal, so the audiobahn amp is working harder with metal then with hip hip.
thats how i see it anyway and i think thats pretty accurate, lol. and of course theres exceptions

how exactly is the amp and speakers hooked up to get 2 ohms?? sometimes 2 ohms is too low for a multi channel amp, which is why it could be over heating too.
