I believe its when in SPL competitions the competitor briefly turns their system volume to maximum to get a SPL reading, thus the term "burping". Like a momentary outburst, but with speakers and subs instead of beer and pizza.

yup
its a brief peak output from the system.
used for measuring peak SPL in dBdragracing events and such.
