How are these headunits that have usb ports? i saw a few audiobahn hus with them but i heard that they aren't all that great. i'm looking for a an easy way to hook an ipod up to a hu although i don't want to sacrifice sound quality.
if a usb port headunit isn't the way to go, what is? i know that alpine and pioneer have their own adapters for their hus, but all i've read on this site about them is complaints, nothing positive.
btw, i'm not looking at spending any more than 250
I haven't seen any 'nice' brands take advantage of them yet, though a USB port in the beginning seems gimmicky.
My favorite way to hook up an iPod through a headunit is just getting an RCA-Headphone cable and hooking up the ipod through the aux-in on the headunit. Here's a fair diagram...
i have a pionerr deh-p8mp with the CD-IB100 pioneer ipod adapter. sound quality is reall good, but navigating seems a little tricky. probably cuz i really haven't had the time to sit down and learn it.
