I had an Audivox Prestige Platinum APS-255 installed a few years back. I stopped using it shortly thereafter because it was way too sensitive and would go off whenever anybody parked next to my car.
Anyhow, I really dig the remote entry system, but I can't use it because the alarm goes off every 5 minutes when it is set.
So, my question is this: is there some way to disable the alarm system but keep the remote entry? Would it be something easy like disconnecting the siren and the shock sensor or is there more too it than that?
Can anybody tell me more? I do have the owner and installation manuals, but I'm not much of a wiz when it comes to wiring and electronics.

i have a Viper 791xv and when i put it in valet mode the alarm is turned off but the keyless entry an all tha works so yah you might want 2 try and put the alarm into valet mode so the alarm wont go off but the remote entry still works
