Hi I guess what my question is , is there anyone out there who mods factory headunits say with new "guts" ie. better tuner, rca preouts better cd player with all th features mp3,cdr-cdrw all that stuff. I really lieko how the factory head unit matches everything in my truck , I've added a kenwood kdc mp-4028 and it looks ok but I really like all my stuff to match ie lights and all that jazz . anyone ever heard of anyone doing this?

It can be done, but it will cost a LOT of money, and is probably a specialist thing. Best thing ism look at as many headunits you can, you will find one that will match!
That sounds like a huge waste of time. If you find anyone willing to do it, be prepared to pay them well over a grand for such a time consuming highly customized overhaul.
