Look i jus bought a car and i want to buy a sound system, im goin 2 buy a sub amp 6x9s and a head unit. The problem i have is i got my eye on a 1000w sub, but my m8 says 2 buy a 400w amp cos it will giv the sub 400w, but wa i dun get is the sub is a 1000w so wa difference does the amp make 2 my sub?
damian, if you're looking at a 1000w sub, then you will need 1000w amp. Make sure the power numbers you're comparing is rated in RMS, not peak. Don't go cheap on the sub box. You'll be disappointed.
