i have a 8inch subwoofer in my room, getting about 150 watts in a ported box. if play i a good bass song i can hear my sub about 50 yards away (outside)is this good for a 8 inch sub if it isn't is there anyway i can make it hit harder
by firing it into a corner u get what is called corner loading(kinda like cabin gain for cars). Firing it into a corner can yield somewhere around a 4 decibel gain in percievable output.
Yeah, try putting it in a corner. It actually doesn't take much to make a subwoofer loud in a house. My friend has a pioneer premier in a plastic trash can, lol, running off a large cd player. Who know's how he's got it hooked up or how many watts is actually going to the sub, but you can go outside and still hear it pretty good actually. Pretty funny.
its a sony sub but not a explod it some other kind it yellow in the middle and a black surrond the sub has really low sq but the spl is acuttaly pretty good
ok i just found the manuel that came with the sub and it says somthing about the sub is "super acoustically loaded woofer" i was just wondering wat all that meant
i just wanna say thanx for the advice on putting my sub in a corner. now when i play a really good bass song it sounds twice as loud as wat it did before
just remember the more objects that bass bouces off the better it sounds to your ear. Its kinda like when you are walking down the street and you hear a car coming from 5 blocks away but when it gets to you its not as loud as you thought it would be! its because its bouncing off tons of objects before it gets to your ear.
