Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 59 Registered: Mar-09 | A buddy of mine recently bought a pair of 18" RE's that he claimed were MT series. When he showed them to me, my first thought was that there was no way that was an MT. He bought them used, and was simply told by the seller they were the MT. Is it possibly an old model MT? I thought it looked like the SX series. |

Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 60 Registered: Mar-09 | Alright, I'll check. If its an MT, its unlike any I have ever seen... |

Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 61 Registered: Mar-09 | It has a pole vent, so it is an SX like I thought. How good are the SX? I offered to buy one off of him. Just wanting to hear a couple reviews... |

Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 62 Registered: Mar-09 | If I do end up with the SX I will have to build a blow through box for my MJ. It has a tonnea cover so it'd be safe from the weather and/or theives. Box suggestions? |

Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 63 Registered: Mar-09 | $550 I believe... Still not a bad price. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6534 Registered: Nov-05 | that is actually pretty bad for a pair of SX 18"s |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 64 Registered: Mar-09 | Really? The only place I could find them sold em at $450 per sub... http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/reaudiosx18.aspx |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 65 Registered: Mar-09 | Well, not the "only," but the cheapest |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6535 Registered: Nov-05 | i'd have to look through my order catalog but i used to be able to get those through my wholesaler cheap.. like barely over $200ea bnib SX 18s used i would not pay more than $225 shipped.. those look a bit scuffed $550 is not horrible.. prolly coulda saved $50-$75 which is really just pocket change long as he likes em.. or you do |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 66 Registered: Mar-09 | They look better than the pic shows. The camera off the cell gets distorted when transfering to the PC via email. $200, wow... Need to get my hands on one of those catalogs...lol |

Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 67 Registered: Mar-09 | Man thats a bummer. I got a question, what kind of shallow mount subs can you get me for cheap that can handle 1000 rms. I plan on getting two SI Mags when I can find a buyer for my 13W7. But if I can find something good for less I'm down for that. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6537 Registered: Nov-05 | how'd you got from shallow mount to si mags in one paragraph? |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 68 Registered: Mar-09 | The new V4 mags are like 5 1/2" deep. I need something that can fit in my truck. I am fairly confident the V4's will. But thats $500 for a pair. Just curious if you have access to some less costly quality shallow mount subs. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6538 Registered: Nov-05 | think the only company they carry that has shallow mount is pioneer i'd just spend money on the v4s, you'd be much happier $500 for a quality pair of subs that you probably will not upgrade from is worth spending half as much on something you may not be happy with and replace |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 69 Registered: Mar-09 | Not a big Pioneer Sub/Amp guy by any means...lol I like some of their head units, I actually have one in my Manche, but I'm about to replace it with an Alpine soon... I have some pictures of the truck here. I think I could build a box to fit. Probably do two individual sealed boxes behind driver and passenger seats. I would try center console, but theres not a whole lot of room there anyways... What do you think? |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6541 Registered: Nov-05 | looks like you can do two 12s.. just build it to use the entire space up to the window line |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 70 Registered: Mar-09 | I could do that, but then I would have to find a new place to mount the amps. I have two very scratch sensitive black JL's. Perhaps I could go with the individual sealed boxes, built to the window line, with enough space between the boxes for the amps? |
Bronze Member Username: Jordon32990Post Number: 74 Registered: Mar-09 | Well... Do you still think I can fit those 12's? i think I can, I have about 1 ft wide on either side. If I build the boxes to the window line I should have enough air space for the Mags I'd think. |
