cd player is set right bass is off sub control turned up amp gain is set to half low pass about 70-80 and bass boost is barely up on it so i cant imagine blowing just one sub and the noise is only in one sub can a coil being going bad in the one sub

"bass boost shouldnt be on at all fyi."

Not exactly. Some amps can produce a certain amount of "bass boost" without clipping.

Epic fail.

" bass boost shouldnt be on at all fyi. "

X2

" Some amps can produce a certain amount of "bass boost" without clipping. "

Even if that were true, all bass boost does is boost one frequencey creating a peak in the response (bad sound), exact same thing a bandpass box does. (well, 99% of bandpass boxes)
