After some thought, im going to be going with a 15" PowerAcoustik MOFO sub... I was planning on using a JBL BP600.1, but would this work? its a duel 2ohm coil sub, and there isnt a way to wire to to make a 2ohm load, or am I wrong?

No. You can do 4ohm or 1ohm on a dual 2ohm sub.
Believe that Amp is 300x1 4ohm and 600x1 2ohm right?
Would work a 300w but it's not 1ohm stable

on the 1200, it says,
"2-Ohm Optimized, 1-Ohm Stable"

Do you think it could take it? Also what would it be pushing at 1ohm?

I don't know...Jonathan suggests those for price/power advantage.
I've heard that the 1200.1 runs hot...

What about the Hifonics Brutus BX1000D for $279

I've heard they are respectable. Says 1000W RMS @ 1ohm. Been told it's really like 800w-900w but still killer for the price. What's the MOFO rated at?

Those JBL amps are 1 ohm stable. It is regulated at 1 ohm, so you get 1200W RMS at either 2 or 1 ohm.

How much are you paying for the MOFO by the way? There are much better SPl subs out there, and with much better SQ at that. I've never seen anyone have trouble with overheating the JBL amps, but it's all in the installation.

My bad, I just read the over-heating thing on here.
