I've got a 2000 Tundra ext. cab and need some speakers to fill the factory holes in order to keep up w/ my sub stage which is 2 SA-12's in a ported box so i'll probably end up amping them as soon as I find an amp. Sonixelectronix is saying all the speakers in my truck are 6 3/4" but when I took my back door panel off to replace my window my tape measure read it was 6" speakers. Theyre factory speakers w/o a doubt but Im confused as to why it's reading 6". Another thing is that my truck appears all factory but my front doors have tweeters above the door handles and the front speakers sound 3X better than the rear ones and dont resemble ol stock standard speakers. Maybe I just need to take my front door panels off too see what I can see.

After doing some research, from what I can see it appears that you can fit anything from 5-1/4" Speakers to 6-3/4" Speakers in your Tundra. Some people have even been able to fit 6x9" Speakers with some modification.

The reasoning behind there being so many sizes is because of the factory brackets which I have a picture of below:

Overall, i'd say take the panels apart and see how much room you have to work with, and purchase Speakers according to that information. I've heard that there really isn't a lot of Mounting Depth to work with for larger Speakers.

Apparently that link doesn't work. Here's a fixed one:

I dont really have a budget...i mean im not game for spending 300 bucks on door speakers but i want a decent pair that i can run off the headunit and then off a little amp later.

There are a lot of great speakers out there for under $300, but if you planning on running them off of your Decks power, then your really shaving your choices down to nearly nothing.

Here are a few Speakers that should be decent off of your Decks power, but could be amplified as well later on:

Focal 165 CA1:

Hertz ECX 165:
