Thanks very much Hay88, I will try this after work. This might sound stupid but how do a put the numbers in as my radio only has buttons 1-6 (station memory preset buttons)? I read something on another site saying to use the remote stalk on the steering wheel to choose numbers then select, finally holding down button underneath to enter code. Can you confirm this?

There is a bar code with a no. that reads PB001446 MMAL No: MR933954 There is a no. with a tick next to it at the bottom of the tag: 051 722 877 and under that is a small seperate sticker that reads: 092004 Hope this helps. the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C 7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.
If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio
