Posted on Saturday, February 19, 2011 - 02:47 GMT I sort of asked this question on another thread, but I wanted to ask it a different way. Do I really need a crossover? What would happen if I hooked a woofer and a tweeter up that both had the full frequency range. Would it sound worse than if there was a crossover separating the spectrum? I'm assuming yes, but why? |

Posted on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 - 02:06 GMT agreed, the tweeter HAS to be on a high pass filter. Running a tweeter with no protection will damage it. But I disagree that a woofer should be low passed. If it is a woofer then it is a full range speaker. But if it is a subwoofer then it WOULD be best paired with a low pass filter. |
