I have a Crysler Sebring convertible with the Infinity stereo system with the separate amp located under the passenger seat. I am replacing the system with a new deck that has a built-in amp. I have it installed, but now need to by-pass the amp. First, is this possible? Second, how do I splice the wires?

Not sure of your year of Sebring, but you should be able to just splice the wires from the output of your factory amp up to your new head unit's output.. after removing the factory amp.

Here's a wiring code for the 2001 Sebring.
Car Radio Constant 12v+ Wire: Red
Car Radio Switched 12v+ Wire: Red/White
Car Radio Ground Wire: Strap or Chassis
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Black/Yellow
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Black/Green
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: N/A
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A
Car Stereo Amplifier Location: If equipped, the amplifier is located in the trunk (inside the left panel).
Front Speakers Size: N/A
Front Speakers Location: N/A
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Green
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Green/Yellow
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Violet
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Blue/Red
Rear Speakers Size: N/A
Rear Speakers Location: N/A
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Red
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Blue/White

here's the link to the site...to find your year.

I googled around to try to find a matching wiring code for the 1998 model, but some wires don't match up.
