Do I Need a Cap for a JL 500/5?

I just purchased my new Jl audio 500/5 amp. I Also have Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5s comps in front, Infinity 693.5i Kappa 6X9" 3-Way rear, and 1 JL Audio 10W6V2 sub. My question is, do I need a cap for a 95 Integra?
If so, what brand, should I go w/?

yes. lightning audio.

well, in any case, you never NEED a cap. a high CCA battery with upgraded Power/ground wires will do better than any cap will. a cap is just what its name says, a stiffening capacitator, it stiffens voltage rails.

derek, do you mean ground and power as in the ones with the amp kit?speaking of wires, 4 gauge can handle 1000 rms easily, right? there are so many bs sites on ebay that claim way too much-up to like 2650 rms. lol

yeah, 4 awg should be fine for 1000 watts. and by upgrading power and ground wires, i mean the power and ground wires in your engine compartment to your battery. not the ones that come with the amp kit. go to an auto shop and ask them about upgrading your power and ground wires as i do not have time to explain it.

good luck
