Great info...my only question is what wire to put the fuse on. I plan on using 1/0 wire so what amp rating should the fuse be also?

I believe you are referring to the wire that runs from the battery to the alternator. You are supposed to fuse it for what your alternator is rated at.

ex. I have a 200A alternator so my fuse is a 200A fuse.

Now some people do fuse and say that you dont need to. But I just did it to be on the safe side.

I thought you were supposed to fuse it at what the wire is rated for and not the alternator size?

I have a 300amp fuse on mine...as well as a 300amp fuse on my 0/1 gauge amp wire before it get to the distro block which has 150 & 60 amp fuses

LOL. I dont know what I was saying, but what I meant was...

Some say you dont need to, some say you do. But I chose to do it anyway.
