The stock radio on a used 98 ford expidition went bad. I replaced the stereo and the unit works but I get no sound from the speakers. I have the right connectors and the wiring is fine. I've tried the fuse for the premium car system with no luck. I can't find any bad connections. Is there another hub to check for the speakers? Where is the amp located on this system?
I found a reference to the amp being powered by the dark blue wire in the harness. Connecting the power antenna wire would power the amp. I tried that but it didn't work. I rechecked the prongs and lo and behold the blue with white stripe on the harness actually went to the dark blue wire in the ford. I made the change et voila I have speahers that work, however only the tuner works and not the cd player. There is a 6 cd changer in the arm rest. Do I have to jump a circuit there to get the stereo to play cds?
