When installing an amp is there a certain order I have to connect the wires?

no, just make sure you unscrew the negative battery terminal from the battery

well yes there is, you should connect the ground first, then all other wires, (RCA's, wires to subs) then HOOK UP THE POWER WIRE LAST

I do it any way i just make sure ground wire from batt is disconnected

As long as you disconnect the negative battery cable (which you need to do whenever you work on the audio system), there is no specific order.


The only thing that you should do is to connect the RCA cables LAST. The reason for this: it is possible for some amps to try and ground through the RCA cables if the ground has not been connected yet. It's not likely, but there have been cases of it happening.
