I have a fairly new Sony HU and recetnly its been shutting off. When listening to music at a high level, after about 7 minutes at this level music stops coming from all my speakers and subs but the deck still shows the song playing but no music comes out. I have to turn it off for 10 minutes before it starts working. Does anyone know what could be the problem ?

Is the amp still on when the music stops? Maybe its the amp thats shutting off instead of the deck since the deck shows that the music is still playing. What do u have in sub, speakers and amp? specs?

The amp is still on, when i'm listening for a little while I can hear the music volume go down, when I go to adjust it everything shuts off. Today though, it shut off but my subs kept going. No music from my speakers
Sub: 2 12" Alpine Type E
Amp: 1 Alpine MRP-M350
Speakers: Infinity reference 6.5

So u got the speakers running off the deck, right? What do u mean when u sed "it shut off but my subs kept going"? Do u mean the deck shut off and the subs kept playing? Or are u saying the the speakers stopped but the deck was still on?

Looks like he is running his comps off the deck.
Maybe internal amp is shutting off, going in thermal protect mode because of overheating?
Maybe a dedicated amp for the comps would be a solution.
Well Sony is not among the best:-)
