since the amplifiers i have have built in fuses... why does the power cable i use to connect the battery to the distribution block need to have its own fuse? is it really necessary? its costing me an extra 30 dollars... and im on a very tight bugdet...

fuse on the main cable should be to prevent it from going past its maximum current capacity.. if there was no fuse ,, and you had a massive current draw through the cable it could melt/fire
