1 farad cap whould be perfect for your application. Just make sure your alternator can handle the amp first and look for signs of heavy dimming. If its fine then 1 farad cap can help.
i think you will be better off with buying a high output alternator. My suggestion is not to waste money on a cap. But if you still want a cap the rule is 1 farad for every 1000 watts.
