My friend just got his Type-R's installed in a pretty nice pre-fab ported box. When I asked him where the shop put the amp, he said in the box. Has anyone ever heard of this, is is bad for the amp?
I've seen 1 amplifier mounted inside of an enclosure, it was a Kicker ZR1000 mounted inside of a huge box for 1 vented 15in solo baric. When the guy was running it at the comp I attended he fried his amp and then his sub. I guess it could be ok to do that but from that experience I'd never do it! Plus how do you calculate the displacment for an amp? You could act like it had perfect angles and get close but it all seems silly to me in the end, shame on that shop!
