Wiring Help

I have a 2 channel amp, and 2 dual 4 ohm subs. I wired them like this: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html?subs =1&impedance=DVC4x2

The first diagram, and I got no sound out of the subs.

Then I just wired 1 voice coil at 4 ohms, and I got sound, but there was music sound coming out of the subs, which I dont think there is supposed to be?

Anyways what reason would cause me to not get any sound out of my subs at 2 ohms.

If I wired it like the top right one here: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161

Would that make it 1 ohm, or 2 ohms, because my amp is 2 channel, but I think its bridged already? Thats what it says under the speaker wiring slots?

Yeah, I just did that, sounds great. Thanks.

What do you think I should set the LPF to?

Ok well I took the positive of 1 voice coil, and the negative of the other on 1 subwoofer, then hooked them up to one channel on the amp, using 1 wire. Then I just connected the positive and negative left on that subwoofer. Did the same thing with the other one, except to the other channel obviously. Now it sounds like way more than 4 ohms to me, do you see any problem with the way I hooked it up, or any way it could be at anything else than 4 ohms?

Thanks for all the help so far.

Ok, the way you have that written you have it hooked up as an 8 ohm load on each channel. With two DVC 4ohm subs and a two channel amp your options are

1) bridging the amp and using a 4ohm load,http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp?WoofQty=2+woofers&WoofImp =Dual+Voice+Coil+-+4+ohms+x+2&image.x=24&image.y=8 and use option #2 hooking up to the terminals that are marked as bridged on your amp DO NOT use option #1 (You will fry your amp)

2)If your amp is stable at 2 ohms stereo (or 2 ohms X 2, however they have it listed) http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp?WoofQty=1+woofer&WoofImp= Dual+Voice+Coil+-+4+ohms+x+2&image.x=16&image.y=12 use option #1 then hook one sub up to each channel.
