A guy I work with bought this amp this week. He's been running two DVC 4 ohm subs on another mono amp @ 1 ohm. His plans are to run this amp the same way. All of the specs I've found online show this amp as being stable @ 2 ohms, but not 1 ohm. Is this amp capable of running @ 1 ohm even though they don't state that it's stable @ 1 ohm?
He took this amp to a local shop yesterday to see about getting it installed and they claimed this amp was capable of 3000w RMS, which I find extremely hard to believe. It seemns to me that he has goofed here and will be forced to run his two subs @ 4 ohms now. If that's the case, then he has actually lost some power by replacing his Memphis mono amp which was rated at 1000w @ 1 ohm.
