Fuse Rating

Hi, I'm having a little problem. I can't figure out what amp fuse I should use on my main battery power wire. I have a 2000 watt American Legacy Series 2 amplifier which has two 30 watt fuses on the side. I was thinks about a 150-amp ANL fuse. Is that too high? Thanks in advance.

Did you say you have 2 30watt fuses on the side of the amp? That can't be right, maybe 30A?
All you need is the total of the fuses added together. So for example if you had 2 30A fuses, you will need 60A fuse near the battery.
I can tell you one thing, you won't get 2000w from 60A fuse!

What fuses do you reccomend for putting in the amp?

Also, what would happen if I used a 150-amp fuse instead of a 60-amp fuse?

If anything happens to the amp, then the fuse won't blow cause it's rated higher than what the amp needs. The amp will either blow it's internal fuses or something inside will burn out.
