2 Multi Channel Amps?

If I have 8 Speakers in my car.
2 tweeters
4 mids
2 subs

Would it be feasable to run the left side off of one 4 Channel Amp and and the right off of another 4 channel Amp?
This maybe be a common thing but I don't know much about car audio.
