How to tell ohms

how do i tell the om's of my sub it's not located on the speaker anywhere

well, you could try finding the model number on the back of the speaker and googling it.....that usually works. Sometimes you can even just type in any set of numbers on the back of the speaker in google and it will give you SOMETHING. Make sure you do the numbers in quotes though. Hope you find it.

no thats not how you wanna find ohms! The easiest way is to find a site that breaks it down for you. There are many but here is one. Go to http://jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html you should be able to find what your looking for there.

If you need to know your sub's ohms, use a DMM. It'll tell you exactly.

so i should use an ohm tester and plug it into to speaker inputs and see what the reading comes out as.

also i have oe other question how do i test the volts coming out of my deck or head unit so i can know what level to set the gain at
