mkay, im going to run 2 amps, already have one in now 250watts rms, then im getting a 400 watts rms next week when it gets here, should i use a fused distribution block when connecting to my battery or let them have their own fuses in the wires themselves?

personally, I'd use 4ga wire from the battery with an ANL type fuse near the battery rated for ~70A.
then where the amps are mounted, use a fused distribution block with a 30A fuse for the 250 watt amp, and a 40A fuse for the 400 watt mono amp.
the fuse block will split from 4ga to 8ga for each amp. use 8ga for grounds as well.
they'll be short runs so 8ga for 2' or so is plenty.
