NO CD drive after ipod shuffle2gb install..Please Help

Hi All,
I have an Ipod shuffle 2gb, and when I install the software then re-boot my pc, I find that I now have NO cd drive?
does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
was ok prior to this install.
any help is greatly appreciated.
