Question on i pod mini

i was told that after a year or so that the ipod would just quit and die.. i'm worried about that because i don't want to spend more money on the ipod if that will happen.. can someone please tell me if it will die? i don't know the complete answer to if it will or not.. thanks!

Your iPod won't just "die". Over time depending on how much you use it, the battery will slowly lose capacity and eventually have to be replaced. To do this, you have two options. One option is to send it in to Apple and they'll replace the battery for something like $65. The other is to replace it yourself by buying a replacement battery that comes with instructions from places like laptopsforless.com for $30-$40. Your battery should last for 300-500 discharge cycles, so it could die in 1.5 years or last 3+ years; it just depends on your usage.
