Wow. The Alpine just came. I'm lovin' it. Now I have to track down a HU install kit for it.

I was doing some homework and I'm thinking I want the RL-I D4. I was looking at the Kicker ZX500.1 class D mono amp. Any feedback on this? The amp will do 500w at 2ohm, just what I need. Cheapest I can find it for so far is $300. Maybe I need to keep looking?

hey guys i just removed d side upholstery in my wagon's trunk & noticed about 1\3 of d gysum screws i had secured it with are BROKEN ! - too much damn basss then !? ...lol

what im doing now is spraying a rubberised undercoat from a can unto d dynamat there to reduce friction noise of d plastic upholstery on it when my bass is hitting

...what i will also do is probably put some pieces of carpet in between d upholstery & body too & add some more new screws to finally secure it down for good ....

paul its gypsum aka drywall screws - dirt cheap

but im going to use some stronger self thread screws now

that plastic upholstery is pretty flimsy stuff so thats why its easy to v1brate ....

Now to get the RL-I.

Just ordered the RL-1. The ordering process over there at SS is a tad different. I placed my order and they said it'll be a day or two before they confirm it and b4 I can pay. Usually they take your money first, then they let you know about shipping later.

Nice Paul! I am up in the air with what I'm gonna do with my system.

Paul, you asked about the header on my integra in the other thread. It is an aftermarket header. I also looked up my suspension and it goes for about $500 avg online. Its got Falken tires too. It rides so nice. I love it.

Just confirmed my RL-i order. Funny how they only accept check, money order or paypal for payment. I had to swing some dough from a savings account just to help offset all my bank draws lol. Sub and amp were $500+ alone. Add the HU and everything else I'll need I'm looking at like $800 for a simple single 10" setup. Shoot, who am I preaching to? You guys know what it's like.

My little sis wanted to go see My Chemical Romance for her b-day. She asked for tickets as her gift. I couldn't say no. Problem is I already got her a USB turntable. (It's a turntable that you can connect to a pc and digitize vinyl records).

lol nice pics rovin.

paul welcome to the world that robs you blind. lol. car audio ain't cheap. lol. the thing is with home theater stuff, you are pretty much set for awhile so you spend alot at once and you are done. with car audio, you are always gonna wanna change. that is where it gets expensive.

When I was into it years back the subs and amps were cheaper. I think my whole setup in my camaro was only like $400, and that was with 2-12" subs.

I will NOT be swapping out systems like you lads do lol. Another thing I won't do again is sell the system with the vehicle. When I traded in my camaro for my first truck my wife told me to leave it all in. (Meaning I wasn't going to need it anyway). A week later I stopped by the dealership to peek at my old car in the lot and everything was removed. Some dealership mechanic just had a great day at my expense.

Great thing is Paul is taking his time and putting his system together..Most people would rush and buy the first thing they saw or heard was good, instead he asked around, read reviews, and thought about what would suit him best for his application, I just wish everybody where as patient as you :-)

paul or berny. what do you guys think about the little bose home theater system. you know the one with 2 little speakers and a sub. supposedly the 2 little speakers are able to throw the sound to make it feel like its all around you.

i was thinking that would be a cool system for a little room.

I got the amp off Ebay from:

http://myworld.ebay.com/audio-club/

Power seller. Good price.

Stay away from Bose Chad. Like Frank says: "The company is a true example of marketing over engineering." There have been many threads over them, mostly bad. Their subwoofers are impossible to service (or even get into) without sending it away for costly repairs. I'm sure it's to hide the poorly designed product.

The thing is the displays you see/hear in the stores are ideally matched environmental/acoustical conditions playing precise demo tracks intended to impress anyone. Their marketing strategy works however. Ppl who have no clue automatically pair the Bose name with high end equipment. Their cost sways ppl to believe. I can't tell you how many threads I've read about them. Those who hate and those who own and try desperately to defend their bloated purchase.

They're the "Sony" of HT.

Bose - Paul already said enough...NO.

well i think mo is going to ship my speakers today. damn paypal and the echeck clearing. lol. i wish he trusted me and sent the speakers anyways. oh well no matter. it cleared on friday so hopefully he ships it out.

paul, i know when i bought the 8s from you, you shipped it before the echeck cleared. i guess its cause it was for little amount so thats why. but curious, if i bought something from you that was $170, would you have trusted me and shipped it out anyways?

Chad. You're no Wolfman. Don't sell yourself short. I'd trust anyone within this thread with that kinda money. Some outside as well. We're all smart enough to know what our word means. I just got bit by the wrong person in Wolfman. Hopefully he's learned his lesson as well. If I see him try to buy anything here b4 he sends me any money though.........I'd have to call him out on it, since I let the $55 slide.

thanks paul. thats what i was thinking. but i guess some people don't. lol.

besides when you send someone a echeck throught paypal, the money is taken out of my bank the next day. but it takes 2 days clear to the receiver. its stupid how paypal does that. but lets say i don't have the money in the bank to cover. paypal will keep trying everyday until i do have money. so its not like i am asking for the merchandise first and then paying later. either way, the money has left my account.

i guess so many crooks in this world so thats why extra precaution is taken.

Mo had his money for the HU that night. It took him 2-3 days to ship but when he did it was one day shipping so it didn't bother me.

Except for those mentioned I'm not sending anything out without money in hand anymore. I don't make any profit anyway so when someone stiffs me it doesn't cut into my profits but takes me below zero. I'm willing to take a few dollar loss for some of the guys here, as long as they're good guys. Like Josh.I'm selling the wire to him at cost with free shipping, which is on me. He didn't ask for it, that's ok with me. I'll make it up elsewhere, like the mart.
