Help! I have a Canon IS S1. As it sits around in its case and is turned off, the batteries are being draiined.I have tried other sets of batteries with the same result. Should I bother to have it fixed, it was $400 new or just buy a new camera.

Thanks, Jim

Remove batteries during storage. Are you using rechargeable batteries?

Thanks, Jim

That is quite a long while for those rechargeables. It is time to replace them if they are no longer holding a charge. They are now at the end of their serviceable life.

Tough call. I would try to get a free or inexpensive repair estimate. Then decide.
