I just purchased a new PC and it seems as though I'm not as technology-saavy as I thought I was. I have a Sony HC42 camcorder and I'm trying to grab video from it to my PC. The problem is, the two USB streaming packages I'm using (Roxio and Nero) only seem to want to recognize my camcorder when it is set to record. I need to (I think) have the device set to "play" in order to grab the video from it. When I switch the device to play, it is no longer recognized.
I've already downloaded the correct (according to Sony) drivers so I know that's not the issue. Thoughts are highly welcome at this point.
