Yes, you will need to purchase one separately. Lexar and Sandisk are the more popular brands and seem to have a good reputation. For starters, you may want to look at a 512MB SD Memory card . This should be able to hold around 150 to 300 pictures depending on the size of the pictures you are taking. My recommendation is the to use the highest quality setting you can use to take your pictures.
