I'm looking to purchase a newer car (newer than 2000) and I need something with a large trunk. For you installers out there who have seen the many trunks out there, which ones have the the most usable space...

Thanks!!!

whats so special about a car? once you fill it up you lose the cargo space in the back.. would be no different than losing the cargo space in an suv

suv would be easier to take the install out if needed.. lets say a trip and you needed luggage room.. trunks are a pain to work systems in and out.. unless its small and crappy :-)

Well, I'm looking for fuel economy to be honest...I drive at least 50K a year and at 15mpg @ $3.50/gal...that adds up for an SUV. Where a car that gets 25-35 would make a difference...almost a whole systems worth.

what do you think happens when you add 500+ lbs to a car? gas mileage goes down :-)

yeah but that gas mileage goes down in both a car or an SUV so a car would still be better

not really.. suvs motors are made for pulling more weight.. what you said is like saying adding 500lbs in a chevy suburban would affect the gas mileage the same way as adding 500lbs in a civic :-)

from my experience.. if you want a loud @ss system without killing the back half of your car.. don't use a car and get an suv of ext cab truck

my jetta with 2 15s wanged really hard don't get me wrong.. but it looked like the rear end was lowered the and complete trunk was a box, amps, batts

even if you have a big trunk.. two 15"s = 6-8^3 .. same for 18"

thats a lot of room.. its hard to get that side box in a trunk even if its big due to the actual trunk openings being small.. i had to build my box inside the trunk.. when i traded the car in it had to be cut out of the car.. no fun

if space and weight is an issue then look at setting up a system that fits your goals ...also dont forget to check into charging amounts stock and whether the right size ho alt. is possible and affordable if needed

OK, for the specifics...I drive a lot...I need the space for the parts that I carry for my work...I don't want a van or an SUV, my system is small(2 12s)...I want something that I can put my system in and fit in my parts...did I mention that I don't want an SUV? Yeh, I did. Other than that...I just want to know what vehicles have large trunks.

Thanks for the input!!!

dont look for interior dimensions as much as the trunk opening. i have huge trunk but opening is very small so can fit a box higher than 12 or 13 tops

This isnt off topic, I think this is a great question for the subwoofer section.

I love Crown Vics, they're my favorite trunk cars.
