Paul how come you didn't start a thread on this hmm, I missed the live launch today that I was totally unaware of. No matter I'm watching the playbacks and that is a lovely launch, with clear skies, just perfect.

Now I know there's a December launch scheduled later this year looking forwards to that.

Yeah I love seeing Florida vanish as quickly as it does from the vids. In no time at all you see the curvature of the Earth and bang, you're in space. I still want to see a lauch in person someday, if I'm lucky enough lol.

Well stay turned to NASA TV coming soon October another spectacular live lunch.

There are allegations going around about whether a shuttle crew as smuggled alcohol on a shuttle mission! This is incredible I just don't believe I'm hearing this at the NASA news conference.

Michael Griffin of NASA just made an incredible response.

If a future president can extend the Shuttle program to beyond December 2010 that would be great news, it would be sad to see the shuttle retired its been going now steadily for 26 years with a few tragic losses. I feel the dream should be kept alive.

What nasa needs to start considering is all the space junk floating around up there. It will only get worse as time and missions continue, forever endangering any craft going up. So how does one go about this? Hmmmmmmmm

Like a minefield!! Hmm they need to clear the debris up! But that would be very difficult very, these are small pieces but some would burn up in the atmosphere, and I guess some won't for quite sometime.

Yesterday after they jettisoned the (external tank) I could see debris lethally spinning if that would to hit you, you'd be in bad way I would say. You should be lucky thee (external tank) doesn't drop on your house! Of course I think that is all timed with precision and it would burn up and land in the ocean? Not that I've ever seen that happen?

"All crew members close and lock your visors!"
It's a about 130db inside the shuttle upon lift-off!

That was trilling kinder felt like being an extra MS mission specialist at the back. Thanks for sharing Paul.

The ISS passed overhead last night Friday at 22.53 hours, just thinking that the shuttle was attached to the ISS, remarkable. It was short duration last night that started at WNW to E very narrow 2 minutes. I can step right outside and look up at her, and wave and then run back inside, wild, wild man.
