Gross weight at lift 4.5 million

Each of the three main engines of Discovery has a thrust of 3849lbs each!

7 million lbs of lift-off power! Now that is rocking power make me what to turn up the JBL sound system!

Weather forecast is now really improving for night-time launch of Discovery STS-116 back to the ISS.

I can say, I could sure feel the lift-off of Discovery's engines via the JBL 4645 that was a lovingly feeling. All the cracking sound was there as well.

I've always wanted to go to a launch. Just to experience it. But what a gamble. What are the odds that the launch gets delayed? That would suck!!!!!! Airfare, hotel room, time off of work..........

The crew was awakened by former astronaut Shannon Lucid who served on Mir and countless Shuttle launches. She's now the cap-com for the crews wake up call in the morning!

The way the main engines and the SRB light up the vapour from the shuttle is like seeing a comet passing overhead. Only this one is climbing upwards at an angle!

Remember the STS-114 Discovery return to flight when that bird got hit by the nose on the shuttle and then it got KFC Kennedy Fried Chicken by the rear end of the SRB! Solid Roasted Bird!

\bThe crew said it was finger licking tasty a bit over cooked but tasty!}

that would be sweet to get a SPL meter of the take off. I bet Chauncey might know he is in the Nasa program.
