Luis de Guzman...absolutely hilarious! This man's facial expressions alone are worth the price of admission.

Both good picks , i like the movies they are in . Luis is the real underdog though , he's been around a long time & mostly played low-life gangsta criminal roles .

Rob Scheider is pretty good too .....

B4 Xmen movie came out i never heard of Hugh Jackman & he was the only 1 of the xmen in the movie who actually looked like the comic character

He really proved himself & let the world know who he was in Van Helsin - great movie !

Tim Robins & Morgan Freeman - b4 Shawshank Redemption came out i never really heard of both of them but that movie was GOOD especially the ending which made up for the length of it . So after that movie i started 2 notice both of them more often .

MF was also good with Jim Carrey in Bruce Almighty ....

i think that this movie section on a whole is kinda hidden away (cause i been around ecoustics since May & only this mth only really noticed it ! ) unlike other movie/entertainment forums there is ALOT of daily chatter - maybe we ought 2 check that out .....

U CANNOT beat the CAR AUDIO section though cause its 1 of the most popular sites PERIOD ! - lol

I think Jeff Daniels is under rated... Good actor, he seems to always be second string or in supporting roles.

Denzel has been in so many great movies and only has 1 oscar and he had to be a bad guy b4 he won one. Will ferrell 2 me is overrated as an actor, but an ok comedian

I don't think Will Ferrell is even being rated as a serious actor at all:-) Great comedian, I don't think he is a good actor at all.

Back to the discussion, the two most underrated male actors I have seen would have to be Michael Keaton and Gary Oldman. Keaton should have been recognized for Batman and BeetleJuice, also Gary Oldman was good in Dracula and JFK. Natalie Portman I would have to say is the most underrated actress I have seen in a while since her performance in Revenge of the Sith. That's just my opinion though.

i agree with Michael Keaton in the 1st BATMAN movie

when it 1st came i thought he really didnt look like the part but now IMO it was the best batman movie they made & it made ALOT more $$$ than any of the others

but Toby Maguire in SPIDERMAN - well IMO he was born to play that part , his look & appeal suits it so well ......

Wow. This thread spans a good distance. I'd have to throw out there Christian Slater and Johnny Depp. Pump up the volume and What's eating Gilbert Grape are two of my favs.

I feel the most underrrated actor currently has to be Paul Giamatti. His treatment by Hollywood and especially the Academy borders on the criminal. He should already have three Oscars for his performances in American Splendor, Sideways, and Cinderella Man. I was actually shocked that the Best Actor nomination went to Thomas Haden Church. I know some in the Academy felt that he deserved the nomination, but I've seen Sideways too many times to know that Giamatti stole the show. Another actor who I feel has also been overlooked in the past, but who has amazing talent is Kenneth Branagh (Henry V, Conspiracy and Warm Springs). In my estimation for anyone who has seen Warm Springs on HBO has to know that there was no other person who could have played the part of FDR so well.

well i don't have any real relevant input on the topic, but i'd just like to point out something;

beginning of post:

Chauncey's post count - 644
Rovin's post count - 1683

end of post:

Chauncey's post count - 5166
Rovin's post count - 10527

how did this happen lol this thread is so old...

actually i did find something relevant to post about

"I don't think Will Ferrell is even being rated as a serious actor at all:-) Great comedian, I don't think he is a good actor at all."

^^^that guy is a great f*ckin actor. and with my own 2cents, Bill Murray is as well. the guy improvises a lot i guess
