Hey guys, I'm sure you've been asked this several times, as I've been looking through old threads. But I want to be able to connect my 5.1 logitech system that has 3 3.5 jacks to my notebook that only has line in, headphone, and mic jacks. It is apparently capable of 5.1 so I dont see the use in spending $200 on a new / external soundcard if my notebook can already do 5.1 and i jsut need an adapter. So, I need to know EXACTLY what it is I need to do to be able to use my 5.1 logitech setup on my notebook. I really don't know much about audio, or notebooks for that matter, so yeah.

Thanks alot.

You have to have a card that has front/center/rear/sub outputs for 5.1

really? that's confusing because my LG manual said i just need some sort of adapter. SPDIF?

It has a sticker that says "5.1 CH SURROUND" right below the keyboard.

That makes no sence to me... Line in (INPUT) is also an output?
