first off I'm not sure what kind of processor i should get AMD Athloyn,AMD turion,Intel core 2 duo. I was looking at getting a Toshiba Qosmio G35 AV600 my price range is around $1100 and under any suggestions? I want a laptop to replace my desktop I want either a Lenovo,Toshiba, or a Acer any Ideas or input? has to have at least 1gb ram and 120GB hard drive/drives
What do you require out of this laptop, in terms of functions it will perform? As far as processors, I would stick with Intel Core 2 Duos. AMD simply can't match their performance currently.
I want to be able to run 3ds max 8,photoshop,premiere pro and some other programs I need a pretty good video card to run them. can you buy video cards and install them in laptops?, on the toshiba im lookin at it says pci express and i know you can put those in desktop computers but I don't know if there compatible with laptops.
Unfortunately no, video cards you're pretty much stuck with, as far as laptops are concerned. Of course at that price, you're probably going to be stuck with something pretty mediocre along the lines of an ATI Mobility x1400, although if you look at the used market, you might be able to pick up a GeForce 7900 GS. I doubt you'd be able to pick up anything professional grade though, along the lines of an NVidia Quadro or ATI FireGL card.
