Bought my computer a few years back and it was top of the line at the time. It came equipped with 1 gig. of RDR memory which I remember to be extremely expensive at the time. I now no longer hear anything about it. Is at a has been? If so why? What's out now that is better?

RDR RAM is the fastest and most expensive RAM type. DDR RAM is the second-fastest RAM type DDR RAM generally costs about 1/2 the price of RDR RAM.

"If so why? "
"Legal issues" with the parent company Rambus.

"What's out now that is better?"

No doubt RDR memory is the best one. But technology changes day to day. Every things has some advantages and disadvantages. By launching new product researcher over comes the fault.
