Help with Harmon Karmon Desktop Speaker Hook-up

My Dell Dimension 4400 was reformatted and now my Harmon Kardon speakers will not play even though they are hooked up to the computer. I was thinking maybe drivers need reloaded but I can't find a name or model number that corresponds with what is listed on the Harmon Kardon website. thanks so much for your help.

Speakers are an external item (output) and don't require drivers, its more likely your motherboard drivers, did you load them? do you have a disk? Did you look in your Device Manager for any yellow exclamation marks? It could be as simple as opening the Device Manager (if you have the My Computer icon on your desktop, right click it and select Properties then Hardware to get to the Device Manager) and selecting Sound, Video and Game Controlers and try to update the drivers for everything in there.
