I am having a problem adding a wireless LapTop to a wired network.

The three wired Desktops and the LapTop accesses the Internet without any problem using the Linksys WAG54G router, but I cannot add the wireless LapTop to the network to share/access files, folders and printers. All computers are on the same workgroup and all computer icons can be seen in the View My Workgroups folder of the three Desktops but not in that of the LapTop - it is empty. Despite the LapTops icon being shown in the 'View My Workgroups' folder, it cannot be accessed from any of the three Desktops. I receive the message '//laptop is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource'.

I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Possibly your firewall settings on the laptop are not set correctly.

Go to http://www.dslreports.com. Look on the left-hand side of the screen and go to forums. Then look in the top section and look for Networking and just look around for a problem similar to yours.

It's a VERY useful site.
