I want to connect my iPod dock to my pre-amp, a Quad with DIN inputs. Pre-made DIN cables are virtually extinct so I will have to make my own. I have the pin assignments for the DIN end, but I don't know what the assignments are for the 3.5mm mini jack that connects to the iPod dock.
I want to connect my Harmon Kardon Soundsticks (USB only) to my iPod. Anybody know if I can safely make a connector from USB to 3.5mm?

no you cannot hook from usb directly to 3.5mm jack you need some sort of circutry in between to take the raw data from ur pc and turn it into audio signal or the other way around
