Chinese antenna/coaxial question

Purchased a Chinese-made antenna for TV. Coaxial cable was not long enough, but on connecting an extension (purchased @ Lowe's), having trouble getting a good connection. The Chinese-type seems to use a finer wire, and is very difficult to get a signal (works, kind-of, with a LOT of 'fiddling.') Is there a connector available that will join the two different sizes of coaxial? Or a finer coax available? --Or another way to work around this problem?

I have no idea what you are talking about. RF coax cable I see being sold is RG-6.

That's okay. No worries; my son was able to fix it. Thanks.
