Is 12ga OFC suitable for 50 foot runs?

i'm just starting out DJing & buying equipment, i'm looking to be able set up a roughy 40 foot by 40 foot square dance floor area with speakers and lights in each corner.

i still haven't acquired all of the gear i need yet and want to get started as cheaply as possible before summer is over. i realize you get what you pay for in audio, particularly professional, but i haven't got so much as ONE paid gig lined up. i'll upgrade as i can afford it. i just want to get EVERYTHING together.

i plan on running 4X 12" sealed subs at 8 ohms with a 500w class D amp in each corner with 4X pyle 93db outdoor speakers on 6' towers (at 100w class D per speaker) placed on the subs with LED projectors on top of those.

i want to make sure that 12 gauge (even 14 or 16) oxygen free cable will be adequate for at least 50 foot cable runs until i can upgrade. right now, it's looking like cables will cost almost as much as GEAR.

i'm willing to give up a little SQ & efficiency, but not if it strains my gear. i would think that long runs of small cable would actually make amps happy by increasing impedence. i KNOW my 10 gauge monster cables sound better than 16 gauge zip cord.

all i want to do is have a gig ready system as soon as possible for now.

many thanks in advance for any cable savvy info. i'd love to run 10 or 8 gauge if i could afford it, but the longer i save for gear, the smaller my gig window gets and i've been buying gear a few months already.

basically, i'm hoping for a "16 guage by 50 foot run is DOABLE, if not optimal" reply
