I am planning to buy a laptop (undecided as to which one) and was wondering if there would be any audible difference in a cd burnt on a laptop and that which is burnt on a desktop?
I have heard that the sound quality deteriorates on a laptop. is this true?
Thanks in advance....

No...the deterioration is in the compression not the laptop vs desktop debacle.

Thanks Berny...
By "compression" do you refer to the "compression" of an audio file to be burnt on the cd, as in the deterioration heard in an mp3?

Exactly. So, when you rip a CD make sure that you are using a lossless format.

Muddy,
What format are you using to burn the CDs? And where do you play them?
