Speaker Damping

First off, do they work well even though they are only a small area around the speaker? Is it worth buying? Second, do other product that are vinyl based work as well/better? Also I heard that dynamat smells, is this true?

Dynamat xtreme does not smell. Liquid smells and sprays smell. Dynamat xtreme is neither of those and does not smell. You can get a bulk pack of 36^2 ft for $125 shipped on ebay.

They save you the trouble of cutting a hole in the stuff yourself but you will really want a lot more than that. If you get Dynamat, only buy it in bulk, its expensive stuff but you won't get reamed as badly if you buy the bulk pack
