Wednesday, July 27, 2005 - 17:09 GMT I had a few qustions about the dynamat/dynamat extreme speaker damping kits. First off, do they work well even though they are only a small area around the speaker? Is it worth buying? Second, do other product that are vinyl based work as well/better? Also I heard that dynamat smells, is this true?

Wednesday, July 27, 2005 - 17:31 GMT 1.) dynamat xtreme works the BEST (requires no heat gun at any temperature and sticks upside down the best) 2.) never had experience with vinyl based work or heard of it. 3.) Dynamat xtreme does not smell. Liquid smells and sprays smell. Dynamat xtreme is neither of those and does not smell. You can get a bulk pack of 36^2 ft for $125 shipped on ebay.

Thursday, July 28, 2005 - 21:10 GMT They dynamat speaker kits are just a gimmick really. They save you the trouble of cutting a hole in the stuff yourself but you will really want a lot more than that. If you get Dynamat, only buy it in bulk, its expensive stuff but you won't get reamed as badly if you buy the bulk pack
