Bird feeder

Gold Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 9335 Registered: Jan-06 | I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poo*p. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs,the table...everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean: They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds wer e gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quite, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal. Now lets see...our government gives out free food, subsidized housing,free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families: you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor: you child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English: Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to press "one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. |

Don't even get me started on the second half  This reminds me of one day a few years ago at work I was standing out on this loading dock having a smoke when I spotted this bird up on the roof about 20 feet above me. It was some kind of small blue colored bird and it was whistling all kinds of tunes. So... I started trying to mimic his whistling, just after he finished a tune I would whistle as close to that as I could. Well, after doing this about three or four times all of a sudden I guess I "said" the wrong thing because he spun around real quick and gave me this "what you call me fucker???" look and he dive-bombed me! Flew right at my face really fast so I threw the cig and ducked into the door as fast I could just before he got to me. Scared the living crap outta me. My heart was beating a mile a minute and everyone I told laughed at me because I got all scared over some three ounce bird. True story. And I have never whistled at a bird ever since  |

Gold Member Username: Nyyfan13Fi SSD USA Post Number: 4969 Registered: Jul-06 | lol thats awesome brad i had a bird fly into my front door (clear door)...me and my dad were watching tv and we heard a huge thump at the door, being the lazy people we are, we said whatever, cant be importnat. so we continued to watch tv but both of my cats and my little dog started running to the door and jumping at it...so we finally got up to look and theres a litle bird laying at the edge of my door just twitching...good news about it, the bird laid there for 2 hours roughly but then walked away |
